An independent operator in a world of big integrators.
For twenty-five years I've led the kind of programs that make or break a company's decade, and I've done it without a software license or an SI badge to defend.

At a glance
- 25+ years in ERP/CRM program leadership
- 75 client engagements, 2000 to 2026
- 16 industries served
- $50M+ in implementation budgets managed
- Workday-deep, platform-agnostic
- ServiceNow HRSD program leadership
I'm David Apollon, founder of 9Nation Consulting. I lead large-scale ERP and CRM programs, selection through hypercare, as the senior, independent voice in the room. Not the integrator building the system, and not the software vendor selling it. The person whose only job is making sure the program actually delivers what the business was promised.
That independence matters most when the stakes are highest. I was brought into a multi-hospital health system to take over a $25M Workday program that had stalled. We reset governance, rebuilt the cutover plan, and drove it to a stable go-live, the kind of turnaround that only happens when someone with no incentive to spin the status report is holding the line.
Across my career I've run executive steering committees, stood up PMOs, owned go-live command centers, and led organizational change at enterprise scale, heavily in Workday, with depth in Salesforce, ServiceNow, and PeopleSoft across sixteen industries from healthcare and public sector to technology, manufacturing, and financial services.
Why independent
Big systems integrators are paid to keep building. Someone has to keep asking whether the program is on track, whether the integrator is earning its fees, and whether the green status deck is telling the truth. That's the seat I take, and I tell you what I see, plainly, while there's still time to act on it.
ServiceNow and HR Service Delivery
Beyond the core ERP, I lead ServiceNow HR Service Delivery programs. I directed full-cycle HRSD implementations for a statewide healthcare network and a global enterprise, standing up case management, the Employee Center portal, and the HR knowledge base. The results were concrete: HR case resolution fell 25 to 35 percent, Tier 1 tickets dropped 40 percent through self-service, and user adoption reached 90 percent in the first month behind a focused change and training effort.
HRSD works best wired into the systems of record, not bolted on beside them. I led the integrations between ServiceNow HRSD and core HCM platforms like Workday, so onboarding, offboarding, and the rest of the employee lifecycle flow cleanly between the service layer and the system of record. The disciplines carry straight over from ERP: executive requirements translated into clear user stories, governance with a real go-live command center, and an honest go/no-go that produced a defect-free launch.
Four commitments on every engagement
Truth over optics
You get an honest read on program health, especially the parts the status deck is hiding.
Executive fluency
I translate between the steering committee and the delivery floor so decisions actually get made.
Accountability for partners
I hold integrators and vendors to the scope, the SOW, and the outcome they signed up for.
Built to hand back
I leave your team stronger: governance, playbooks, and discipline that outlast the engagement.
Put independent eyes on your program.
Whether you're mobilizing, mid-flight, or staring down a go-live, a candid second opinion is the cheapest insurance you'll buy.
